Most parents going to trial have one terrifying thought they never say out loud: "What if something happens at trial that I'm not prepared for and I have nobody to call?" Phase 4 eliminates that fear entirely. This is total support - before, during, and after your trial day.

Before trial
Deep Case Strategy Session

A recorded 1-2 hour video session where we map your entire case from every angle. What the other side will argue. Where your vulnerabilities are. How to neutralize them. What the judge will focus on. What your strongest moments are and how to maximize them. You walk away with a full recording to review as many times as you need before trial day.

Day of trial
Trial Day Command Center

A personalized, print-ready PDF battle plan built entirely around your specific case, your exhibits, your witnesses, and your judge. Every scenario you might face - already answered on the page. What to do if opposing counsel objects. What to say if the judge asks something unexpected. Your exhibit order. Your witness sequence. Objection language ready to read aloud. You cannot text during testimony - but you can glance at a page during a recess and know exactly what to do next.

After trial
Post-Trial Guidance Session

Within 72 hours of your trial, we meet to go through what happened, what the ruling means in plain language, and exactly what your next steps are. If you got the outcome you wanted - we make sure you know how to protect and enforce your order. If the outcome wasn't what you hoped, we talk through your options: reconsideration, modification, or appeal. Note: if you decide to pursue an appeal, that becomes a separate engagement with its own scope and pricing - appeals involve a different court, different rules, and significantly more work. We will be honest with you about whether it makes sense, and if it does, you will find that option waiting for you in your client portal.

Our Story

I became what my child needed.

There was a moment where everything fell apart at once. I'd lost custody. I couldn't afford an attorney anymore. I was broke in every sense of the word - financially, emotionally, spiritually.

But my child needed someone to fight for her. And the only person available to do that was me.

"When I couldn't afford an attorney anymore, I became one."

I taught myself Washington State family law from scratch. I read every statute, every court rule, every local King County procedure I could find. I figured out how to draft motions, build exhibit binders, write declarations, and stand in a courtroom and present a case - against an attorney on the other side.

And I made it through. Full fight. All the way to trial. I came through it.

Family Court Navigator exists because I know there are thousands of parents right now in the exact position I was in - broke, terrified, and convinced they've already lost. I want to be what I needed when I was sitting on that courtroom floor wondering how I was going to do this.

I'm not an attorney. I'll never tell you I am. What I am is a parent who figured it out - and I'm going to help you figure it out too.

Our Role - Clearly Stated

What we do - and what we don't.

Being transparent about our role is how we protect you and ourselves. Here's exactly where the line is.

We don't give legal advice

We explain how court processes work and help you organize your facts. We never tell you what legal outcome to pursue, predict what a judge will decide, or advise on legal strategy - that's the exclusive domain of licensed attorneys.

We don't represent you in court

You are always the self-represented party. We never appear on your behalf, sign as your agent, or communicate with opposing counsel or the court for you.

Documents are prepared at your direction

Every draft is based entirely on the facts and goals you provide. You review, approve, sign, and file everything yourself. You are always the decision-maker.

We'll tell you when you need a real attorney

If your situation involves complex legal arguments, DV protective orders, contempt proceedings, or other high-stakes matters, we'll be direct: you need a licensed WA family law attorney - and we'll help you find one.

Common Questions

If you're wondering - you're not alone.

Is this legal in Washington State?
Yes. Washington State does not prohibit non-attorneys from preparing legal documents for others as long as they do not hold themselves out as attorneys or provide legal advice. Document preparation services are a recognized category. Our service agreement and all materials are designed to operate clearly within these legal boundaries.
An attorney provides legal advice, develops legal strategy, represents you in court, and owes you fiduciary duties. We prepare documents and coach you on processes - you make all decisions and represent yourself. We're a fraction of the cost. We are not a replacement for an attorney when legal strategy is truly critical - and we'll tell you honestly when that line is reached.
Absolutely - and many of our clients are in exactly that situation. Judges respect organized, clearly written filings regardless of who drafted them. We help your documents look professional and your case well-presented. I've been on that side of the table. I know what it looks like to go up against an attorney pro se and win.
We can help with document preparation and process coaching for modifications and relocations - these are some of the most common things we do. Contempt matters often require an attorney. We'll tell you clearly on your intake call whether your specific situation is within our scope.
Standard turnaround is 5–7 business days for most packages. Rush 48-hour turnaround is available as an add-on for most services. For trial prep phases, we build a clear timeline together at the start based on your trial date - we have never missed a client's filing deadline.
Start with the $75 consultation call. You'll walk away knowing exactly what to file, in what order, and where to get the forms. Many parents use that one call to handle their first filing on their own - then come back when they need more help. We also point you toward free self-help resources at every Washington county courthouse.
No - we serve all of Washington State. We have experience with King, Pierce, Snohomish, Thurston, and other counties. All services are delivered remotely so we can support parents anywhere in WA. Our deepest local expertise is King County Superior Court, but we work with WA court rules statewide.
Yes. We do not share your case information with any third party except as required by law. Note that attorney-client privilege does not apply since we are not attorneys. Our service agreement includes a confidentiality clause that we take seriously - your case details stay between us.
Before You Decide

What happens if you wait, or go in unprepared?

Family court doesn't wait. Deadlines pass. Judges make decisions. Orders get entered - and changing them later is significantly harder than getting them right the first time.

Take the Free Case Assessment
Missed filing deadlines
Washington courts can strike your claims, limit your evidence, or enter default orders if documents aren't filed on time. Missing one deadline can change everything.
Disorganized filings signal weakness
Judges see hundreds of cases. A clearly organized, professionally formatted submission stands out - and so does a scattered, confusing one. First impressions in your paperwork matter.
Unfavorable orders are hard to undo
Modifying an existing order requires proving a substantial change in circumstances. Getting the right order from the start is far easier - and far less expensive - than fixing a bad one later.
Walking into court unprepared is terrifying
Judges ask questions. Opposing counsel objects. Exhibits need to be introduced. Without preparation, the courtroom feels impossible. With it, you feel like you belong there.
🎯 Free - No credit card

The one-page guide every Washington custody parent needs before their first hearing.

One page. Plain English. The 3 things Washington judges are measuring in every custody case - and the exact words that help versus the exact words that hurt. Most parents never see this until it is too late.

  • The 3 factors that decide most close cases in Washington
  • Word-for-word examples of what helps your case
  • The single most common mistake self-represented parents make
  • A 5-minute checklist to review before any hearing
